Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse in Urbana, Illinois for a 13-week assignment. The role requires 36 hours per week, on-night shifts, and a travel employment type. Immediate opening with ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications and 3 years of acute care experience.

As an L&D RN you will monitor labor progress, assist with deliveries, and care for mother and newborn. Candidates must be able to handle a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 pounds when needed.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications required.
• 3 years acute care nursing experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced labor and delivery unit.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor dilation.
• Assist physician with delivery setup and instruments, including epidurals or cesarean prep.
• Provide immediate care to newborn.
