Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN in Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in Clearlake, CA. The position runs 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, offering travel benefits and a comprehensive package.

The Labor and Delivery RN will monitor maternal and fetal health, administer treatments, and collaborate with obstetric teams to deliver high-quality care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties within labor and delivery scope
