Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse in Redding, CA. The RN will provide obstetric care and support for mothers before, during, and after delivery, working 12-hour nights on a 36-hour-per-week schedule.

The ideal candidate has ACLS, BLS, AWHONN, NRP certifications and at least 3 years of acute care experience. Duties include assisting with epidurals, cesarean preparation, and newborn care in a fast-paced travel setting.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, AWHONN, NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care RN experience.
• Travel assignment with 36 hours per week and 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor the patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progress.
• Ensure beds are clean and dry and clean up bodily fluids.
• Assist physician with drapes, gloves, gowns and delivery instruments.
• Provide immediate care of the newborn.
