Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for Labor and Delivery in Waterloo, Iowa. This 13-week assignment requires a 12-hour night shift and 36 hours per week, offering travel-based pay and a tax-free stipend.

L&D RNs provide care before, during, and after delivery, supporting mothers and newborns across the birthing process. Immediate openings exist for qualified RNs with ACLS/BLS/NRP/NIH/AWHONN credentials and at least two years of L&D experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIH, NRP, AWHONN certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• Willingness to travel for a 13-week assignment; 12-hour nights.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Keep beds clean and dry; manage bodily fluids.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns and delivery instruments.
• Provide immediate care to the newborn.
