Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment in Silver Spring, MD. The role requires one year of L&D experience, active RN license, and current BLS/NRP certifications.

You will assess maternal and fetal health, administer treatments, and collaborate with obstetric teams to ensure safe, high-quality care during labor and delivery. The position offers competitive pay, day-one benefits, and dedicated clinical support from Fusion’s team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Active RN license in Maryland or multi-state.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and patient examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with regulatory standards and hospital policies for obstetric nursing.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
