Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse in Santa Maria, CA. This role requires 3 years of acute care experience and involves 12-hour shifts on a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week. The RN will support mothers through labor, delivery, and the immediate postnatal period in a fast-paced environment.

Start date is 09/28/2026, with required certifications including ACLS, BLS, AWHONN, and NRP. Benefits and weekly pay are offered by TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience.
• ACLS, BLS, AWHONN, NRP certifications may be required prior to assignment.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Keep beds clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids during/after birth.
• Assist physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
• Provide immediate care of newborn.
