Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Lexington, NE. Start date 10/20/2026, 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts. Travel employment with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Required: 1 year of L&D RN experience, RN license, BLS, NRP. Preferred: AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE/ACLS. This role involves direct patient care, obstetric emergencies, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and patient examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including mother and newborn assessment and stabilization.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members for cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document all patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Adhere to hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing.
