Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Evanston, Illinois. The right RN should have 3 years' recent acute care experience. Start date is 09/21/2026 with a 6-week assignment.

L&D travel nurses provide care before, during and after delivery. This role includes monitoring labor, assisting physicians with procedures, and caring for the newborn. Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week are expected.

Qualifications

• ACLS is required.
• BLS is required.
• NRP is required.
• 3 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/dilation.
• Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids before/after birthing process.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
• Immediate care of newborn.
