Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years experience to cover both vascular and neuro IR cases in an acute care setting.

Details

• Acute care Interventional Radiology department covering both vascular and neuro procedures
• Performs 20-30 cases per day depending on provider coverage
• Body/Vascular IR rooms use Canon equipment, Neuro rooms use Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos
• GE ultrasound equipment used in all rooms
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Schedule is M-F 4x10s (7a-530p)
• Call requirements of 1-2 shifts per week plus every 3rd-4th weekend, with possible holiday call and 30 minute call back time

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in Interventional Radiology required
• ARRT(R) and BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Above average skill level required in cerebral procedures, coiling, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting
• Experience with sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, and ECG/blood pressure monitoring required

Additional Information

• Monitors and interprets hemodynamic data while maintaining sterile technique during procedures
• Continuously monitors patient ECG and blood pressure, documenting and advising the physician of all activity
• Participates in on-call rotation and remains available for emergent procedures 24 hours a day
• Acts as part of the lab code team, initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillation under physician supervision
• Documents procedures and manages inventory control and billing accurately
• Instructs radiography students in clinical setting on positioning, technique, and equipment use
• Participates in educational in-services and performance improvement activities
• Scrubs are provided
• Radiation badge must be provided by the agency, as the facility does not supply one
• Candidates must live outside a 50 mile radius from the facility
• Previous permanent employees and travelers who completed a full year must wait 2 years before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within the health system for longer than a year without taking a 2-year break
