American Traveler is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role supports vascular IR and Hybrid OR cases, requiring ARRT(R) and 2+ years of IR experience. Shifts are Days, 8 hours, 40 hours per week, typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

The tech will operate in the OR, assist imaging, and collaborate with vascular surgeons and OR staff. A weekend/call rotation applies within the schedule.

Qualifications

• ARRT required; ARRT(VI) preferred.
• BLS required.
• VA state license required if applicable; pending license accepted but must have licensure in another state, with ETA of 8 weeks.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Strong vascular/IR experience required.
• Familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures required.
• Ability to work independently required.
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures, angioplasty, carotid stenting, endovascular interventions (EVAR, TEVAR), thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography.
• Experience prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose).
• Experience with Siemens equipment and ultrasound.
• Epic experience required.
• BSN preferred.

Additional Information

• Responsible for pulling inventory and ordering cases in Epic prior to procedures
• Runs the table and controls during cases
• Performs 3D spins and works with fusion technology
• Actively engaged throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
• Uses HI-IQ to document and track inventory used during cases
• Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural team members
• May support simple surgical cases using a C-arm alongside X-ray staff during downtime, including procedures such as Impella placements and cystoscopies
• May be asked to help train other staff, answer questions, or review workflows and equipment during downtime
• Works within a major academic teaching hospital with a strong focus on education and continuous training
• Must float within scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO permitted per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at submission
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to start
• Previous UVA employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
