Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab is seeking a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines, IA. The IR nurse will provide specialized care during minimally invasive procedures, with pre-, intra-, and post-procedure duties and close collaboration with radiologists and technologists.

Requirements include one year IR RN experience, a valid RN license, and BLS certification; preferred RCIS/RCES and other certifications.

Qualifications

One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN.
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments and review medical history and labs.
Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care.
Administer and monitor moderate sedation to ensure patient comfort and safety.
Monitor hemodynamic status and oxygenation during procedures.
Assist physicians during procedures with proper positioning and sterile technique.
Recognize and respond to complications and escalate care when needed.
Provide post-procedure monitoring and discharge education.
