Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Kankakee, IL. The OT will provide evaluation and care planning for diverse patients in acute care settings, with 40 hours per week and 10-hour daytime shifts.

Requirements include 6 months of OT experience (new grads welcome), BLS, NBCOT-OTR, and state licensing. Responsibilities cover assessment, treatment planning, and patient/family education, with documentation per guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of OT experience; new grads welcome.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR with state license.
• OTs should stand/walk for long periods and bend or stoop as needed.
• Solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review medical history, ask questions, observe tasks.
• Evaluate patient condition and needs.
• Develop a plan of care with goals and activities.
• Assist patients with tasks and daily living activities.
• Assess home or workplace to identify improvements.
• Educate family and employer on care and accommodations.
• Recommend equipment and train patient on use.
• Document progress for evaluations, billing, and physicians.
• Provide timely documentation per state/insurance guidelines.
