Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel assignment in Kankakee, Illinois. The role is 13 weeks long with 40 hours per week, 10-hour days, and travel employment status.

The OT should have 1 year of experience (6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates) and must hold BLS and NBCOT-OTR with state licensing. Expect duties including evaluation, treatment planning, documentation, and patient-family education.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• OTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with specific goals and activities to reach those goals.
• Help patients with various disabilities perform tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace for potential improvements.
• Educate patient’s family and employer on accommodations and care.
• Recommend equipment and instruct on its use.
• Assess and record patient activities for evaluations and reporting.
• Provide timely documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.
