American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU travel RN for a Trauma II facility in California. The role requires CA RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomy. Vaccination is required; PALS preferred. Accounts for 1:1–2 nurse patient ratios in a 30-bed unit.

The position offers travel opportunities with housing allowances and comprehensive benefits. Shifts are 12 hours, scheduled in advance, with every other weekend; no on-call for travelers.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• COVID vaccination required.
• PALS preferred; required after 6 months if assignment extends.

Responsabilités

• Trauma ICU unit with 30 beds in an acute care setting.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2, with 90% of patients at 1:2.
• Population includes trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and patients with ventriculostomies and ICP monitoring.
• RN titrates drips including vasopressors and sedation.
• Uses Cerner EMR; orientation provided; 24/7 intensivist coverage.
• Unit has 24/7 RT and Hamilton ventilators; Navy scrub color required.
• Shift: 12-hour days 6:45–7:15; schedules set ~6 weeks in advance.
• Every other weekend required; no on-call for travelers.
• Float coverage includes PCU/CICU/telemetry/med-surg (ICU patient only).
• Travelers are first to be moved if scheduling adjustments are needed.
