Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Trauma ICU RN for a night shift assignment in California. You will provide critical care to trauma ICU patients, including ventilated cases and neuro/ ICP monitoring, working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM in a Level II trauma center.

Requires CA RN license and 2 years ICU experience, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS; TNCC preferred. Travel-friendly environment with housing allowance and per diem options; first-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required.
• Experience caring for ventilated patients.
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring.
• Experience with neurological care and ICP monitoring.
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trauma ICU unit within an acute care hospital.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Weekend shifts required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Float to any ICU/TELE unit within scope based on facility need.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• Level II Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital.
• Provide critical care nursing to trauma ICU patients including respiratory, thoracic, and neurological cases.
• Up to 2 days of RTO with 1 approved holiday off.
• Three missed shifts may result in assignment cancellation.
• Facility maintains a strict dress code: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings (other than small earlobe earrings), and all tattoos must be covered.
• No specific scrub color required, but camouflage or character patterns are not permitted.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate.
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
