Job summary

IPS is seeking a dedicated VDC Scanning Technician to join our team, traveling between Michigan and Indiana project sites and supporting field data collection.

You will operate laser scanners (RTC360, BLK2GO, NavVis VLX, Topcon) and contribute to SOPs and data processing while upholding safety and quality standards.

This role requires a technical degree and 5–7 years in surveying or related fields; travel up to 75–100% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Associate's/Technical degree or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience in computer-assisted drafting, design, scanning, construction, surveying, civil, and VDC/BIM.
• Demonstrated leadership in laser scanning with experience managing complex scanning projects.
• Troubleshooting data quality and equipment issues with high data integrity.
• Commitment to professional development and mastering current scanning technologies.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities for field technicians.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive laser scanning operations at project sites, ensuring data meets standards and specs.
• Develop expertise in cutting-edge scanning technologies and software.
• Uphold quality control protocols to ensure accurate and reliable data.
• Assist in writing and maintaining SOPs for laser scanning operations.
• Support data processing by collaborating with Data Processing Technicians.
