AEP is recruiting for a Transmission Line Mechanic D to assist in installation, maintenance, and inspection of overhead transmission facilities. The role requires operating line trucks, climbing poles, and working with live line tools under supervision. Candidates must be prepared for overtime and extensive travel.

Initial six months focus on operating Company equipment, ladder work, and hazard awareness. CDL is required by end of probation, with training and safety standards emphasized

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• No previous work experience required; line work experience or line school education is preferred.
• Must be available for overtime, call-out overtime and shift work; travel >50% of the time.
• Must obtain a valid commercial driver’s license prior to end of probation.
• Must demonstrate ability and desire to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for Transmission Line Mechanic A in the job family.

Responsabilités

• Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules, regulations and practices and report unsafe conditions and practices.
• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect conductors, fixtures, and other equipment on overhead facilities.
• Operate line trucks and related equipment and provide tools and equipment to workers aloft.
• Supply employees working aloft with the necessary tools and equipment.
• Maintain records and submit reports as required.
