Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks a Safety Specialist to support on-site projects involving installation of material handling and automation equipment at client locations. The role focuses on driving strong EHS performance during equipment installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities include safety plan development, policy implementation, and leading the Safety Department. Will require up to 90% travel, strong analytical skills, and eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 90%, mainly domestic with some international travel.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with automated material handling systems and electro/mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and manage multiple variables.
• Strong technical, financial, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; E-Verify used.

Responsibilities

• Assist development and updates of installation site safety plans.
• Manage safety plan documents and policies.
• Implement health and safety programs and procedures.
• Supervise Safety Department staff, including performance reviews and coaching.
• Investigate accidents and implement preventive actions at sites.
• Maintain hazard-free working conditions and coordinate with contractors.
• Ensure site safety trainings (first aid, CPR, inspections) are completed.
• Arrange health and safety testing and external evaluations as needed.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigate risks.
