Location: Boise, ID | Schedule: Full-time, on-site at customer/installation locations with extensive travel | Compensation: $75,000 base salary + Bonus + Profit Share
Overview
A world-leading robotics and factory automation OEM is seeking a Safety Specialist to support on-site projects involving the installation of specialized material handling and automation equipment at client locations. This role is critical to driving strong EHS performance during equipment installation and maintenance, balancing both customer and company safety goals.
What you'll do
- Assist in the development, review, and update of installation site safety plans
- Manage the upkeep of safety plan documents
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, programs, and procedures
- Manage Safety Department employees, including performance evaluation, training, coaching, and counseling
- Ensure timely and accurate investigation, reporting, and preventive actions for accidents/incidents involving personnel, contractors, and visitors at company or customer sites
- Maintain hazard-free working conditions
- Work with contractors to evaluate overall safety and collaborate with upper management to improve safety culture
- Ensure safety inspections are completed at any facility where company personnel are present
- Ensure all required site-specific safety training is completed, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections, and related safety procedures
- Arrange for health and safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies and consultants as needed
- Analyze and conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks
Required qualifications
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 90%, mainly domestic, with international travel required
- Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record
- Familiarity with Automated Material Handling Systems
- Understanding of Electro/mechanical manufacturing equipment
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Excellent technical, financial, organizational, and analytical ability
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS), a Technical Discipline, or equivalent education preferred
- 1-2 years of experience working in safety, preferably with large-scale equipment
- Previous experience in administration, implementation, and development of environmental, safety, and health programs preferred
