Job summary

Critical Connection, inc is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel assignment in Cedar Rapids, IA. This Hand Therapist role focuses on evaluating and treating upper extremity conditions within an outpatient or hospital-based setting.

The candidate should have an OT license in the state and preferably a CHT certification, with 1–2 years of hand therapy experience. Travel or local options with 40 hours per week and 10-hour shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of practice.
• Certification as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred (or eligibility to obtain).
• Minimum of 1-2 years of hand therapy or outpatient orthopedic experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Experience with splint fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity conditions including post-surgical cases, fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and chronic conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical findings.
• Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints for various diagnoses.
• Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities to improve function and reduce pain.
• Educate patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
