Job summary
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a GI Lab position in Illinois. The role requires sedation experience and at least 2 years of procedural nursing in GI/Endoscopy, with an IL RN license and EPIC EMR experience.
The 8-week contract offers day shifts (0730–0900 start), 36-40 hours per week, no weekends or on-call, with potential cross-site coverage in Highland Park, Skokie, and Evanston. Travel or PRN experience is preferred.
Qualifications
- Active IL RN license required
- Current BLS/ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy experience
- Sedation experience required
- Epic EMR experience reflected in employment history
- Must pass an EKG test with 80%+
- Two references from GI Lab supervisor/manager within last year
- At least one travel reference preferred
- New grads will not be considered
Responsibilities
- Procedural RN role in the GI Lab performing intra-procedure care
- Admit patients, recover in Phase II, and assist in the procedure room
- Day shift with start times 0730-0900
- 36-40 hours per week; no weekends/holidays; no on-call
- Possible floating to GI labs in Highland Park, Skokie, Evanston
- Orientation includes EKG test, modules, and Epic testing (6-8 hours)
- On-site EKG test Day 1 (pass/fail) with study guide provided in advance
- Local candidates accepted at same rate
- Returning staff must have 12-month break to be traveler
