Job summary

D.H. Griffin Traveling Team in the Atlanta area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support the division’s leadership and drive project success.

The role requires up to 100% travel, averaging three weeks on the road with one long weekend at home, plus per diem, meals and lodging. Candidates should have 2–4 years in construction, a bachelor’s in Engineering/Construction, and strong leadership, scheduling and vendor-management skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience in construction / demolition environments (preferred).
• Education - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Building Science.
• Has proven set of skills and a breadth of knowledge that are of value to the business.
• Takes a big picture perspective regarding the Company’s priorities and goals.
• Previous front line business operations or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of field supervision and office/administration.
• Understand current status of all projects and oversee project schedule.
• Ensure that all projects meet schedule, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the project.
• Collaborate with team to develop plans for operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel.
• Motivate and lead a high-performance team; recruit, retain and mentor staff.
