Job summary

Russells Technical Products is seeking a Field Service Engineer. The role involves field installations, start-ups, preventive maintenance, and performance testing to ensure product compliance with specs.

After a 2-4 week training at the Holland, Michigan facility, you will be traveling 4 nights per week to customer sites. You will train customers on operation and maintenance, troubleshoot refrigeration/electronic systems, and maintain service logs and travel expenses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years work experience or training in commercial / industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.
• Experience with electronics and controls programming.
• Work experience in a related service capacity.
• Experience or training in cascade refrigeration; EPA Universal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in environmental simulation systems industry preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field installations and start-ups, preventive maintenance, inspect/conduct performance tests to verify that product complies with manufacturing prints and specifications and document installed product performance.
• Conduct training and instruct users in proper operation and maintenance of products.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical components using prints and schematics to restore products to full operation.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, coordinate service calls, explain refrigeration and controller retrofit benefits, and develop preventive maintenance contracts.
• Maintain knowledge of warranty, maintenance, and service policies; keep vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and field service/travel expense reports.
