Job summary

ProAutomated Inc. is hiring for a travel-focused field engineer who supports data center startups, performing mechanical, electrical, and control checks on-site.

You will lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse and manufacturing systems, working closely with automation engineers to test and validate installations across North America. You must be comfortable with frequent travel, adapt to varying locations, and communicate clearly with customers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel across North America
• 3+ years in a related field (electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering)
• Electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering background
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must live within 50 miles of a major airport; relocation assistance available
• Personal vehicle required within 45 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Support data center startups with on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks.
• Lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate systems on-site.
• Provide clear communication and status updates to customers and project teams.
• Travel rotations commonly 5 on/2 off, 10 on/4 off, or 14 on/7 off; each project brings new challenges and locations.
