Job summary
Rust Belt Recruiting is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for industrial machinery across North America. You will travel extensively, diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, and support customers remotely when not on site.
The role requires a strong background in mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems, CAD familiarity, and the ability to operate CNC machinery.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational skills in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, service, and maintenance on customer machinery across North America.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on client equipment.
- Travel 70%–75% of the time across North America (US/Canada) for field projects.
- Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and remote access when in shop.
- Log and manage service requests using Salesforce ticketing system.
- Perform mechanical repairs including motors, ball screws, bearings, and spindles.
- Set up and move machinery using forklifts within local shop facilities.
- Collaborate with domestic and international service teams to troubleshoot issues.
