Electric Power Systems in Tennessee is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician to terminate, splice, test, and document fiber optic lines within customer networks. Five years of field experience and familiarity with EXFO equipment preferred; willingness to travel is required.

You will perform OTDR tests, install fiber equipment, read blueprints, and ensure safety standards. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of fiber splicing experience required.
• Experience with OTDR, light source and meters preferred.
• Willingness to travel is required.
• Current fiber optic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Install fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently.
• Read and understand blueprints, designs and work scopes.
• Adhere to all safety standards.
