This position is 100% travel covering our South and Central Indiana clinics when needed.

Job Summary

The nurse practitioner (NP) uses clinical judgments in conducting health assessments, making differential diagnoses, and prescribing pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments. Responsibilities include independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The NP oversees clinical operations and consults on healthcare policies and procedures during the Medical Lead Physician's absence. The NP promotes health, prevents illness and injury, and manages acute and chronic health issues in the on-site setting.

Essential Functions

1. Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
2. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients’ health needs.
3. Records physical findings, formulates plans, and prognoses based on patient conditions.
4. Provides patient education and summaries.
5. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop care plans.
6. Prescribes or recommends medications and treatments.
7. Collaborates with the Medical Lead Physician as appropriate.
8. Maintains medical records using Electronic Medical Record software.
9. Educates and coaches nursing staff and medical assistants on best practices.

Requirements

1. Master's degree (MSN) required.
2. At least 3 years of experience in Family Practice/Primary Care.
3. Family Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.
4. Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and OSHA regulations preferred.
5. Licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
6. National certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
7. Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) for medical providers.
8. Appropriate certification to prescribe medications under the Medical Leader's authority, if permitted.
9. Strong computer skills including Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.
10. Training skills and problem-solving abilities are a plus.
11. Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
