Job summary

DC in Texas seeks experienced ER RNs for travel assignments. Two positions available; start ASAP after credentialing. Work 3x12s or 4x12s, 7pm-7am. Travel outside a 50-mile radius. Requires TX RN license and current BLS/ACLS/PALS; TNCC preferred; prior charge nurse experience is highly regarded.

Provide direct patient care, assist physicians, perform tests, administer medications, and educate patients and families. Document care in Meditech and deliver age-appropriate nursing care daily.

Qualifications

• TX RN license required with current certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS).
• TNCC certification preferred for additional competency.
• Minimum 2 years ER nursing experience; charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and document nursing care for assigned patients.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and perform tests per scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, meds, and self-care.
• Deliver age-appropriate care and reassess pain and plan daily.

Additional Details about the position

• Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
• Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy for adolescent general patient populations.
• Assess and reassess pain; apply appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Revise the plan of care based on patient response and evaluate its effectiveness daily.
• Deliver age-appropriate care tailored to the patient’s condition and developmental stage.
• Administer medications accurately, based on patient age and clinical condition, following the five rights of medication safety.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans; evaluate learning outcomes and include family education as appropriate.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical and manual nursing tasks within licensure scope.
• Provide treatments and services consistent with licensure and clinical competencies.

• Charge experience highly preferred
