Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an MEP Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, procurement, and managing direct labor on the project. The role involves coordinating with the Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure timely completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, 2+ years of commercial construction experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction field or equivalent.
• At least 2 years commercial construction experience in a Mission Critical environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes.
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances.
• Good written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.
• Experience with hospital/medical facility projects $10M+.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensure safety, honesty, unity, and quality of work in all activities.
• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction, staffing, and timelines.
• Develop and utilize look-ahead schedules with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate the pre-construction meeting with the Project Manager prior to mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Inform all parties of construction issues and progress; update clients regularly.
• Manage labor costs by adjusting crew mixes and assignments across projects.
• Prepare the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and housekeeping standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
