Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist with travel experience to perform EEG and neurological testing for in-patients and outpatients of all ages. The position follows a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 40-hour workweek in a neurology department.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years EEG lab experience, holds BLS, R.EEG T, and R.EP T certifications, and may require an active license. Travel rate eligibility applies within a 50-mile radius.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year patient care/healthcare experience
  • 3–5 years EEG lab experience preferred
  • BLS, R.EEG T, and R.EP T certifications required
  • Active license if applicable
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Graduate of ABRET EEG and/or Evoked Potential Testing program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Neurology department setting performing EEG and neurological testing on in-patients and outpatients of all ages
  • 5x8 day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
  • Performs standard EEGs, auditory and visual evoked response testing, and median-tibial somatosensory testing individually or as a full battery
  • EEG technologists not trained/certified in EPT may not perform evoked potential testing
  • Educates patients and families on the testing process
  • Performs clerical duties including scheduling, billing, and filing reportsParticipates in CQI initiatives and departmental education and training
  • Assesses quality of testing and testing equipment
  • Reports to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders
  • Local candidates accepted at a discounted rate
  • 50-mile radius rule applies for travel rate eligibility
