Job summary

Stantec is seeking an archaeological technician to join a culturally diverse team and lead field activities including survey, testing, and monitoring from multiple Florida offices. The role is full-time, temporary, project-based with extensive travel up to three months per deployment.

Non-local projects include paid travel days, per diem, and single-occupancy hotel stays. Candidates should be prepared for 8–10 hour days and rotations of 5–10 days, with responsibilities in fieldwork, data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field, or combination of education and experience
• Successful completion of an archaeology field school
• Professional experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation helpful
• Knowledge of precontact and historic material culture
• Ability to complete physically demanding tasks in remote areas and/or humid continental climate, including walking, hiking, carrying heavy loads, and digging
• Qualified applicants should exhibit strong technical skills, good communication skills, and feel comfortable making decisions in the field
