Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Archaeological Technician to join the Cultural Resources team, conducting field surveys, testing, and data recovery across multiple project sites. The role requires extensive travel and involvement in Phase I survey work, with opportunities to contribute to Phase II/III activities as needed.

The position is full-time, temporary, project-based, with deployments up to three months. Local travel, paid travel days, per diem, and single-occupancy hotel stays are provided for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field or combination of education and experience.
• Completion of an archeology field school.
• Experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation is helpful.
• Knowledge of precontact and historic material culture.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in remote areas, including walking, hiking, carrying heavy loads, and digging.

Responsibilities

• Perform archaeological fieldwork tasks including controlled surface survey; shovel testing; and excavation.
