Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT registration and advanced CT certification for a 20-week weekend overnight assignment in Raleigh, NC. You will join a hospital-based CT scan department performing CT procedures and ensuring patient safety.

The role requires ARRT registration, advanced CT certification, BLS, IV contrast administration, and experience with PACS/EPIC. The schedule features 36 hours weekly across Fri/Sat/Sun nights with no on-call.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration or registry eligible (diploma required if registry eligible).
• Advanced certification in CT required.
• BLS (AHA) certification is required.
• Experience with IV contrast and establishing IV lines.
• Experience with image transmission, PACS, and patient data documentation.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based CT Scan department environment.
• Conduct CT procedures and tests to acquire diagnostic data.
• Verify patient identification, obtain history and ensure safety.
• Obtain images per protocols with multi-planar and 3D reconstructions.
• Administer oral and IV contrast per protocol and check labs prior to injection.
• Transmit and verify images across PACS/EMR/QC stations and maintain accurate records.
• Precept new employees and students; cover holidays as needed.

Job description

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Radiological Science educational program
• ARRT registration or registry eligible (diploma required if registry eligible)
• Advanced certification in CT required
• Must achieve registry status within one year of employment if registry eligible and maintain continuing education requirements
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Experience with IV contrast injection procedures and establishing IV lines
• Experience with image transmission, PACS, and patient diagnostic data documentation
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based CT Scan department
• Weekend overnight shifts Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 20-week contract
• No on-call requirement
• Uses PACS, EPIC EMR, and IMPAX service tools
• Conduct CT procedures and tests to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data
• Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety and understanding
• Obtain images per protocols, perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction, and select appropriate window/level settings
• Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients per protocol, including checking lab values prior to injection
• Transmit and verify images across PACS, EMR, and QC stations, ensuring accurate charge and demographic information
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and document incidents as improvement opportunities
• Precept new employees and students
• Expected to cover every other holiday
