Job summary

MEP Health seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a travel assignment to support patient care across facilities in New Mexico. You will implement treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and deliver therapeutic activities while monitoring progress and documenting outcomes.

You will educate patients and families to promote independence, maintain treatment areas, and collaborate with the healthcare team, ensuring compliance with licensing and facility

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• COTA national certification and state licensure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of anatomy, motor function, and OT principles.
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely.

Job description

Role: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a travel capacity.

Responsibilities: Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT). Deliver therapeutic activities, monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and support patient mobility, exercises, and use of adaptive equipment. Educate patients and families to enhance independence, maintain treatment areas, and collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care. Ensure compliance with licensing and facility standards.

Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience, current BLS certification, COTA national certification, and state licensure. Must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles. Ability to lift and assist patients safely is essential.

Key Duties
