Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a long-term care position. The role requires at least 1 year of OTA experience in LTC or rehab settings and a COTA license if applicable.

Day shifts are 8 hours with no weekends or on-call requirements. The OTA will provide rehabilitative care under an OT, document progress, participate in care conferences, and assist with DME/supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of OTA experience minimum.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Administer ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities and use of assistive devices.
• Assess progress and communicate with supervising OT to adjust plans.
• Document all treatment information in the electronic system per regs.
• May supervise students under guidance of the OT.
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested.
• Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state acts and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Long-term care (LTC) facility setting within the Occupational Therapy unit
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under supervision of an Occupational Therapist
• Administer treatments including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans
• Document all treatment information in the electronic documentation system per regulatory and clinical requirements
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
• Assist supervising Occupational Therapist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies
• May supervise and support students under guidance of the Occupational Therapist
• Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
