American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in a Long Term Care setting. The role includes 8-hour day shifts, with no weekends or on-call requirements, and supervision of therapy staff.

The OT will assess cognitive and ADL needs, provide rehabilitative interventions, and collaborate with the health care team. Active OT licensure is required, with 1+ year of OT experience and LTC/Rehab background.

Qualifications

• Active OT license required if applicable.
• Minimum 1+ years of OT experience required.
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required.
• New grads considered if they completed Level II fieldwork experience.
• One reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Assess cognitive and ADL functioning disorders in LTC, develop care plans.
• Provide rehabilitative and skilled treatments including ADL retraining, exercises, modalities.
• Use standardized assessments and EB practices to guide interventions.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Consult and counsel patients, families, and other providers.
• Document all required information in the EHR and maintain records.
• Participate in conferences and facility trainings.
• Supervise OT assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students as needed.
• Adhere to NBCOT/state acts and ethics.
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested.

• Provide rehabilitative and skilled treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, and modalities
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Communicate patient progress and treatment plans with supervisors and healthcare team members
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain accurate treatment records
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and facility trainings
• Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students as needed
• Adhere to NBCOT and state practice acts and code of ethics
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
