Job summary

IMB (International Mission Board) seeks a Travel Coordinator to manage domestic and international travel for staff, events, and field deployments. You will book, ticket, and track trips while ensuring compliance with travel policies and delivering excellent service.

The role requires GDS and OBT proficiency, strong organizational skills, and experience in nonprofit or mission travel. Hybrid work after training and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Sabre or another GDS is required.
  • Familiarity with Concur or another corporate online booking tool (OBT) is required.
  • Experience in corporate, agency, nonprofit, or mission travel preferred.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international travel procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality of service.
  • Calm, thoughtful decision-making and problem-solving under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of world geography and international travel routing.
  • Awareness of geopolitical conditions and how global events may impact travel planning and traveler readiness.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and organisational values when supporting travelers and families.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience coordinating group, event, or conference travel, preferred
  • Experience with international travel documentation and visa-related travel, preferred.
  • Experience supporting travelers in a nonprofit, ministry, or mission-focused, environment, preferred.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, travelers, and travel suppliers to support travel needs.

Job description

Are you a detail-oriented travel professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? As a Travel Coordinator, you'll manage complex travel arrangements, support travelers through every stage of their journey, and play a key role in delivering outstanding service across the organization.

Location: Rockville, VA

Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid after training period

Compensation: $23.57-27.73 per hour*

The Travel Coordinator supports travel operations for newly appointed personnel, organisational events, and other assigned travel activities. This position is responsible for booking and managing domestic and international travel arrangements, assisting travelers throughout the travel process, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with organisational travel policies.
