6BO IAP World Services, Inc. is seeking a Travel Coordinator to handle travel arrangements for employees. You will plan itineraries, verify travel orders, and assist personnel with travel forms and accommodations.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience as a Travel Agent, a strong knowledge of travel management systems, and the ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
As the Travel Coordinator, you will plan itineraries and schedule travel accommodations for employees using knowledge of routes, types of carriers and travel regulations. Verify travel orders to ensure costs, availability, and convenience of different types of carriers to select most advantageous route and carrier; notify personnel of travel dates, baggage, medical and visa requirements, and determine that all clearances have been obtained.
Assist personnel in completing travel forms and other business transactions pertaining to travel; may deliver personnel files and travel orders prior to departure, meet and inform arriving personnel of available facilities and housing, and may arrange for motor transportation for arriving or departing personnel. All major modes of transportation are used, as most individual trips involve combinations of more than one mode.
Travel is varied and periodically requires planning for relatively inaccessible intermediate or destination points. Routings are diverse and there is a necessity for frequent rerouting, replanning, or rearranging with many side trips requiring changes in modes of travel and creating difficulty in routing and scheduling connections. A substantial amount of travel involves special allowances or requires authorization and planning for supplementary or special transportation facilities. It is frequently difficult to obtain the required information.
