Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead project quality, timeliness, and safety on Midwest travel projects, mentoring the team and strengthening client relationships through excellent service.

Roles cover on-site leadership across Minnesota, Iowa, or North Dakota with base pay determined by experience and project scope; eligibility for Mortenson incentive plan. Travel up to 100% is required. This role offers growth at two levels based on experience.

Qualifications

• Six or seven years of construction management or related experience.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Detail-oriented with multiple project tasks.
• Understanding of construction law and business practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects including subcontracts and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial projections and allocate project estimate into financial system.
• Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment.
• Create monthly owner billings and handle billings and contract management including contract buyouts.
• Oversee budget for and make selections of trade partners and suppliers.
• Lead/Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s), provide job assignments, and career development.
• Approve timecards and provide feedback on performance.
• Be main owner contact on-site, review owner agreements, and resolve site concerns.
• Execute/Manage change orders and obtain approvals.
• Maintain schedule and budget, ensuring quality, risk, safety, and compliance.
