Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Traveling Project Manager for our downtown Chicago contractor. You will travel 4 days a week across Chicagoland and nationwide, manage projects from conception to completion, and operate with a company vehicle and credit card.

This permanent role welcomes those with 0–2 years in construction and a solid track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The role emphasizes planning, coordination, execution, and risk mitigation in a fast-paced, results-driven

Qualifications

• College degree in construction or civil engineering OR 1–2 years of construction experience.
• Willing to travel is a must.
• Proven ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, from entry-level to executive management.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards of practice, and safety regulations.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage project costs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from planning to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members to meet requirements.
• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
• Review project scope to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
• Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
• Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
• Meet contractual conditions of performance.
• Review work progress daily and adjust plans as needed.
• Prepare internal and external reports on job status.
