Job summary

Akima is seeking a Junior Travel Specialist to support a Government Travel Program on-site. You will review DTS submissions, correct errors, and ensure compliance with JTR and government policies while communicating with travelers and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to research and resolve travel-related questions and issues. Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree preferred or equivalent with experience.
• High School diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience accepted.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in travel documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret policies and apply regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review travel documents in DTS for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and correct administrative errors before approval.
• Ensure compliance with Government travel policies and JTR.
• Communicate with Government travelers both orally and in writing.
• Respond to questions and resolve travel-related issues.
• Research and resolve program questions and discrepancies.
• Provide help desk support to travelers and stakeholders.
• Research information and provide guidance based on policies.
• Identify travel debts and follow up on actions.
• Forward debts for collection when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of travel transactions and inquiries.
