Job summary

Sanford Health, a large rural health system, seeks a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under a charge nurse. Travel within a 75-mile radius is required across multiple locations.

Knowledge of age-appropriate care, medication administration under supervision, and collaboration with nursing staff are essential. Premium pay and shift differentials apply where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in Long Term Care preferred (6 months preferred).
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements.
• Maintains all department-specific required certifications.
• When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary; communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and related personal care.
