Job summary

Sanford Health in the heartland is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will support multiple locations within a 75‑mile radius and help with basic health care needs, vital signs, and respectful, age-appropriate care as outlined in each resident’s plan of care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education annually based on state requirements.
• State-specific CNA certification requirements must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within state scope.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity and dietary.
• Communicate changing condition and care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, transfers, mobility and range of motion exercises.
• Support dining, meals and hydration, and assist with snacks as appropriate.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to keep living areas clean and operational.
• Encourage participation in wellness and recreational programs.
