Job summary

Medication Assistant (MA) position at Sanford Health involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under charge nurse supervision. You will support basic health care tasks and assist with meals, feeding, and hydration to residents.

Duties include recording vital signs, performing routine care activities, and administering medications as delegated within state regulations. Requires a CNA/state CMA pathway in some locations.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred).
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Maintains required competency testing and continuing education credits.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope of practice.
• Document care, medication administration, and vital signs in the resident record.
• Communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse and care team.
