Job summary

Black Women's Mental Health Institute is seeking a Travel Cath Lab Tech to assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. You will prepare patients and equipment for catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, and electrophysiology studies.

The role requires passing catheters and wires, operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring systems, and maintaining sterile technique while supporting the sterile field and documenting data

Qualifications

• Recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech with current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, and EP studies.
• Pass catheters, wires, balloons, and stents; operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Maintain sterile technique; operate imaging equipment; ensure functionality of contrast injectors and monitoring systems.
• Support sterile field setup, perform sheath removal, and document patient data and equipment logs accurately.
• Manage inventory, stock supplies, and adhere to radiation safety and regulatory standards.

Role Overview:

The Travel Cath Lab Tech assists in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures within the cardiac catheterization lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures such as catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, and electrophysiology studies.


• Assist physicians by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents; operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring systems.


• Maintain sterile technique, operate imaging equipment, and ensure proper functionality of contrast injectors and monitoring systems.


• Support sterile field setup, perform sheath removal, and document patient data and equipment logs accurately.


• Manage inventory, stock supplies, and adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech with current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certifications.


• Strong critical thinking, communication, and technical skills, with physical ability to move equipment and assist during procedures.


• Ability to work under pressure, follow instructions, and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.


• Visual acuity and sensory skills for effective communication and procedure assistance.
