Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals seeks an EP Lab Technologist for a teaching hospital in Washington, DC. The role requires 2+ years of EP lab experience and at least one prior travel assignment.

You will work in a high-volume electrophysiology lab with day shifts, no on-call or weekend requirements, and updated charting in Cerner. Experience with mapping systems and advanced devices is preferred. Must have ACLS/BLS and eligible license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of EP Lab clinical experience within the last 7 years.
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required.
  • ACLS, BLS, and CCI RCES or RCIS certification required.
  • ARRT and Fluoroscopy Permit preferred; license required if applicable.
  • Experience with EP lab hemodynamic monitoring and ablation procedures.
  • Cerner charting experience required.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist for a teaching hospital's top-ranked heart and vascular center, requiring 2+ years of EP lab experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details
  • Work in the Electrophysiology Lab of a short-term acute care teaching hospital recognized among the top 50 heart and vascular centers in the country
  • 748 staffed bed facility with an average daily caseload of 18 cases
  • 4x10 or 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including 2 days of late case coverage per week
  • No on-call or weekend requirements
  • No floating requirement
  • Procedures include cardiac electrophysiology studies, head-up-tilt tests, cardioversion, internal loop recorder placement, atrial flutter/fibrillation ablations, SVT and VT ablations, device implants (Watchman, Aveir, pacemaker, defibrillator), and device explants/lead extractions
  • Uses Philips and Siemens X-ray machines and GE Micropacer equipment
  • Charting completed in Cerner and GE Cardiolab, with Pyxis for medication management
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of recent EP Lab clinical experience within the last 7 years
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
  • ACLS, BLS, and CCI RCES or RCIS certification required
  • ARRT and Fluoroscopy Permit preferred; license required if applicable
  • Experience with EP lab hemodynamic monitoring and ablation procedures
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • EKG skills required in inpatient and outpatient settings, including obtaining vitals and identifying sinus node rhythms
  • Experience with 3D mapping systems (Biosense, Abbott/ESI), ultrasound, and laser lead extraction equipment preferred
  • Trauma center or children's hospital experience preferred
  • Must have flu vaccination

  • Responsibilities include EKG lead placement, access site prep, sterile field maintenance, room circulation, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Skills in groin closure devices, peripheral vascular procedures, and laser lead extraction are a plus
  • Scrubs are provided
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
  • Former MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
