Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and RCIS certification for an acute care cardiac catheterization lab in California.

The role requires BLS and RCIS, scrubbing for PCI/STEMI and peripheral cases, and active licensure for the state of submission. Expect a demanding schedule with 10-hour shifts and a rotating call, while enjoying generous travel benefits and housing allowances.

Qualifications

• 2+ years cath lab experience required.
• BLS and RCIS certification required.
• Scrub experience for PCI/STEMI cases required.
• Must scrub both cardiac and peripheral cases.
• Active state license for the submitting/state; license if applicable.
• Copy of driver’s license required with name matching government ID.
• Two professional references: one supervisor within 12 months and one peer within 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Acute care cardiac cath lab setting with 2 procedure beds.
• Average caseload of 8 cases per day.
• Procedures include all cardiac invasive cases (excluding structural heart) and peripheral interventions.
• Uses Cerner EMR.
• M-F 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1700.
• Required call averaging 12 days per month, including at least one weekend, with 30-minute response time.
• Rotating call coverage for holidays.
• No floating required.
• Hospital provides scrubs.
• Perform a range of cardiac invasive procedures and peripheral vascular diagnostics/interventions.

• Must be able to scrub both cardiac and peripheral cases
• Active state or compact (NLC) license required for the state of submission; license required if applicable
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration, with legal name matching government-issued ID
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care cardiac cath lab setting with 2 procedure beds
• Average caseload of 8 cases per day
• Procedures include all cardiac invasive cases (excluding structural heart) and peripheral interventions such as carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostics/interventions
• Uses Cerner EMR
• M-F 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1700
• Required call averaging 12 days per month, including at least one weekend (Friday 1730 to Monday 0700), with a 30-minute response time
• Rotating call coverage required for holidays
• No floating required
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Perform a range of cardiac invasive procedures and peripheral vascular diagnostics/interventions
• Floor-specific orientation typically consists of 1-2 shifts depending on skill level
• Charge nurse support available on unit
• 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
• IV team support available
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
