Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a fast-paced cardiac catheterization program handling high STEMI volumes in West Virginia.

Requirements include ARRT, AHA BLS/ACLS, active licensure, and a KY license with WV licensure possibility. Only candidates living 75+ miles away will be considered; travel orientation and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in cardiac cath lab required.
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required.
• ARRT certification required.
• Active compact or state license in hand at time of consideration.
• License optional if applicable; KY license required and WV licensure possible.
• Flu vaccin e required with no declinations accepted.
• Proficient in scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases.
• Experience with devices such as Shockwave, Impella, EKOS/ACIST, Penumbra.
• Experience with pacemaker and ICD implants.
• Experience with peripheral diagnostics and interventions.
• Experience with radial and groin access techniques.
• Driver's license copy with address matching permanent address.
• Two professional references (1 charge or higher) and (1 supervisor).

Responsibilities

• Work across 2 cath labs with rotation into EP lab.
• Adult cardiac patient population focus.
• 8-10 procedures per day; 6-8 STEMI cases per month.
• Use fluoroscopy, Philips and Siemens imaging, and PACS.
• Day shift 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Rotating 36/48 schedule with 84 hours every two weeks.
• One rotating weekday off each week; on-call 20 shifts per 9 weeks.
• Respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts as part of a call team.
• Floating within scope; cross-training in EP ablation procedures.
• Table panning, scrubbing, and assisting with advanced cardiac devices.

• KY license required; willing to consider candidates who will apply for WV licensure upon offer
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions considered case by case)
• Proficiency scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases
• Experience with devices/tools such as Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, and ACIST injector
• Experience with pacemaker and ICD implants (single, dual, Bi-V)
• Experience with peripheral diagnostics and interventions
• Experience with both radial and groin access techniques
• Driver's license copy required with address matching permanent address
• 2 professional references required (1 charge or higher, 1 supervisor), both completed within the last year

Responsibilities

• Work across 2 cardiac cath labs with rotation into the EP lab

• Uses fluoroscopy, Philips and Siemens imaging equipment, and PACS system
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Rotating 36/48 schedule requiring acceptance of 84 hours per two weeks (one week 3x12, next week 4x12)
• One rotating weekday off each week
• Call requirement of 20 shifts per 9-week schedule on an every-other-week basis
• Must respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts as part of a call team of 2 RNs and 1 Rad Tech
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Cross-training available in EP ablation procedures
• Responsibilities include table panning, scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, and assisting with advanced cardiac devices
• Physicians perform both radial and groin access procedures
• Scrubs and lead apron provided
• Orientation held bi-weekly
• Candidates must live 75+ miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered, must be presented upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year before being eligible to return
• Traveler pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
