Job summary

DirectShifts in Michigan (Marquette) is seeking a physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations for VA disability claims. You will review records, assess cognitive and neurological residuals, complete VA DBQs, and prepare objective medical reports with adherence to HIPAA and VA guidelines.

Requirements include MD or DO, board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Physiatry, and active unrestricted license; no prescribing or follow-up care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
