Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension examinations and to document findings for VA requirements. The role involves reviewing medical records, assessing residuals, and preparing detailed reports with no prescribing or follow-up care.

The candidate must hold an MD or DO, be board-certified in Neurology, Psychiatry or Physiatry, and possess an active state medical license.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree is required.
• Board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is required.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the practicing state is required.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of evaluations.

• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
